MODULE 1
Foundation is everything. In this module you learn what helps build a strong foundation for your child. Specifically, you get to understand what the critical brain development period is, and how this impacts your child’s overall growth. You will understand why overexposure to screentime robs your child of their communication potential. Finally, you will learn of a powerful technique called “serve and return”, which builds your child’s brain architecture and impacts greatly on their talking.
MODULE 2
The process of building a child’s language can be viewed like the process of building a house; the foundation of the building ensures the integrity of the entire house. There are a number of skills your child MUST master before he/she can be ready to start talking. In this module, I tell you exactly what these are.
MODULE 3
In this module, I cover the vocabulary and language expectations of children 12 months – 30 months. I teach about the sophistication of a child’s language progression, and how parents can break down language for their child to get them to meet a developmental stage, and also how to step up their stimulation to encourage more advanced language.
MODULE 4
In this module, you will learn all the techniques used by speech therapists to get a child to talk. I teach you how to interact with your child to grow their language the fastest way. You’ll learn what to say and how to say it instead of the monotonous questioning that most parents tend to get stuck on (“what’s this?”, etc.). I also teach you the kind of instructions that help grow a child’s language.
MODULE 5
Learn the choice of words to teach first. Say what?! Yes, there are right words and not so right words to teach your child. I will also caution against the mistakes parents make with regards to the choice of first words, and most importantly, how to ensure you are teaching the right kind of words to make it easier in your language-building pursuits.
MODULE 6
Your child combining words (to make sentences) is an exciting time developmental stage, and a period that will see your child start to hold brief conversations.
In this module, I teach 3 advanced techniques for encouraging your child to make sentences, and the types of words parents ought to teach or ‘model’ to their child in order to make it easier for them to form short sentences.
MODULE 7
“Understanding precedes (and in fact, exceeds) talking.” Basically, this means, in order for your child to start talking, they must first understand. In this module, I teach the different types of instructions you can give a child, and the purpose of each. Yes, I also tell you which types of instructions are better for growing your child’s language.
MODULE 8
In this module, I teach you the secrets to the combination of words you should focus on in order to grow your child’s language more robustly. When everyone is busy teaching their child the alphabet, counting and colours, you will have an unfair advantage with what you learn in this module.
MODULE 9
Here, I share some ideas that will encourage your child to be more compliant and to communicate more readily. I’ll teach you how to set up communication temptations and caution against early independence….you know the child who fetches their own desired items; the disadvantages of this type of self-sufficiency on language growth.

Hi, I’m your teacher Lorna Muthamia-Ochido. I run a family-centred speech-language therapy clinic, the largest in East and Central Africa. My clinic has helped more than 40,000 children optimise their communication outcomes (in other words, I make children smarter 
). My most important job however has been to empower parents and equip them with the necessary skills to mitigate their children’s speech/ language difficulties and set them on a trajectory of lifelong success.
Because I work in an underserved country, I have not always been able to make my services accessible to all who need it, which compelled me to find a way to get this much needed training out to parents so that they too can be empowered to make the difference in their child’s life. I am a mama of 3 (Mor- 11; Marwa- 9 and Mara- 5), so all these techniques have also been tried and tested with not just my clients, but my own children. The course gives you the knowledge of how you ought to interact with your child in order to ensure each interaction maximises their ability to expand their language skills. It therefore can benefit other age groups, but I have focused on the 18 months – 5 year old range as great progress can be realised with this group.
